Hi,
I would like to clone an old 18.04 Ubuntu based VPS into a VirtualBox prior to migrate to the new range, both for backup and to investigate the possibility of upgrading the underlying distribution. Is it possible? How?
I have tried to remotely copy the partitions using dd and after fsck I was able to create a disk with the boot, UEFI, and / partitions of the VPS but I cannot have it start: I tried to use a live distro, chroot and install grub but to no avail ....
Thx for any hint,
