Cloud-init package on Arch Linux and CPU microcode

Hi,

I'm cleaning up/hardening the VPS instance I got, which runs Arch Linux - everything is pretty straightforward except for the cloud-init package, which I am not very familiar with, but I assume that it is only used for bootstrapping and is then no longer needed, along with all its dependencies.

Has anybody got any experience removing this or any advice against removing it?

Regarding CPU microcode, can I assume that OVH will keep all its hardware up to date in that respect and I don't have to load it myself in the boot process, which would be useless if the VPS migrates from physical CPU to physical CPU?

Thanks!

Gabriel
