Creation of subdomains when the hosting is external to OVH

Good evening. I can't find information about the creation of subdomains when the hosting is external to OVH, in this case from Hetzner. I bought a domain *.es and I have an external hosting where I intend to create a Discourse forum. I would like information about the steps to follow to create a subdomain in the DNS Zone. Thanks for your help.

Hello,

I understand that the domain is registered with OVH and the DNS zone is hosted by OVH.

In Web Cloud > Domains > DNS zone, simply add a new record in your DNS zone

  • Record type: A
  • add the desired subdomain name
  • add the IP address of your server hosted by Hetzner
  • set a TTL around 600 (this means 10 minutes)

You should be able to use the subdomain after a couple of minutes.
