Hi, I transferred a domain to ovh a week ago and I bought a server to host it on. Problem is, when i go to my domain name (mydomain.com) it redirects me to mydomain.clusterXXX.hosting.ovh.net. Does anyone know a reason as to why it might be?

If your domain is redirecting to the cluster’s address (something like
clusterXYZ.hosting.ovh.net), it usually indicates that your DNS settings or hosting configuration are not fully set up. Here’s how to resolve it:Check your DNS records
Ensure your domain’s A record points to the correct IP address of your hosting server.
If using a web hosting plan (e.g., OVH shared hosting), you may also need CNAME records pointing to the OVH cluster.
Verify web hosting assignment
Log into your OVH control panel.
Under “Web Hosting” > “Multisite” (or domain management), confirm that your domain is properly linked to your hosting service.
Sometimes, OVH automatically redirects an unconfigured domain to the cluster address as a placeholder.
SSL and default site
If HTTPS is enabled before the domain is fully configured, it might redirect to the cluster address.
Make sure the SSL certificate is correctly installed for your domain.
Propagation time
DNS changes can take up to 24–48 hours to propagate.
During this period, the domain may temporarily redirect to the cluster address.
Clear cache
Browser or DNS cache might still point to the cluster address. Clear your cache or test in incognito mode.
Contact OVH support if needed
If everything seems correct and it still redirects, contact OVH support — they can verify cluster assignment and DNS records.
Summary: This redirection is a placeholder by OVH until the domain is correctly linked to the hosting account and DNS is properly configured. Correct A/CNAME records, proper hosting assignment, and propagation time usually fix the issue. More Often unlimited
