Downgrading VPS

Hello All,

First post so probably in the wrong place, let me know where it should be.

I currently have a VPS and want to lower the monthly costs as I am not using it to its full potential, I over spec'd it when I started as I didn't know what I needed. How do I go about this? I cant find any documentation or tutorials on the subject.
