I have set up a hosting account at OVHcloud as recommended by Magix/Xara due to the discontinuation on the Xara online hosting service. I am struggling to publish my website at OVH (I have limited expertise ie a novice) I am trying to publish using the Web Designer publish feature but I get either a timeout or a login denied. message. I have the FTP settings for the new OVH account and my domain has been transferred to OVH. Currrently floundering. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Please provide more information about "Web Designer publish feature". Web Designer seems a generic term here.
My website has been hosted for years on the Xara Online servers but this service is being discontinued and I was recommended to transfer to OVH (by Xara). Within Xara Web Designer there is a 'publish website' feature which simplifies the publishing (!) for novices like me. It requests basic FTP address information and a password. Having input that info, the website appears to export and signals that it has successfully published to the required destination. However, all I can see on OVH is website under construction and no obvious use of my storage space, which kinda implies that no files have been received. I have been pointed towards FileZilla but somewhat nervous given my lack of expertise. I'm not sure what competence is required to use FileZilla. Thanks for your interest in my question.

Filezilla is easy to use.
Remember to store your website under the directory /www/ , this is a default value that you can change in your customer panel (under Hosting > Multisite: root directory)
You are invited to delete the file: index.html placed by default by OVH and displays "Site under construction". This file may show up as a folder in Filezilla. Don't worry, it is a file. In fact a link to a file.
