I am interested in setting up DKIM verification for my domain on MX PLAN to improve email deliverability and reduce the likelihood of my emails being marked as spam. Can you please let me know if this is possible, and if so, what the process for setting it up would be?

MX Plan - Is it possible to enable DKIM verification for my domain on the MX PLAN email service?

Looks like not within the OVH Control Panel.
I am also on "MXPLAN 1 hosting" that is the free email 5GB + 100MB hosting
and there is nothing to configure DKIM in CP. Looks like, its an extra work that OVH
would have to do to implement and no one is going to justify this in their meetings
as the product we are using is FREE and therefore no revenue generating.
However Google has some handy tips on how to set it up on their service and one
can learn more:
Help prevent spoofing, phishing, and spam
https://support.google.com/a/topic/9061731
So I tried with setting up DKIM with
DKIM Core https://dkimcore.org/tools/keys.html
and generate tokens.
You get:
- Private key
- Public key that you enter into DNS zone as TXT:
1700141890.DOMAIN_domainkey
TXT
v=DKIM1;p=MIGf...............QIDAQAB
Up to here, everything works, but not sure, how would one sing the e-mails sent so it does not end up in SPAM?
UPDATE:
So I have looked into this more closely.
OVH has a article on how to configure DKIM but only for (Exchange and Email Pro) plans!!!!
https://help.ovhcloud.com/csm/en-dns-zone-dkim?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0058258
So I have tried just in case it may have been enabled in API Console logging in
https://api.ovh.com/console/
but no luck, DKIM is missing in my MX plan API section :frowning:
Nope,
Unless the customers leave in droves, OVH/managers/staff do not care,
option is to upgrade to PAID plan :(
It's like offering a car without a dashboard. You can not see how fast
you are going, your fuel level etc.
Same is with MX Plan e-mail, you do not know if it will be delivered
and if so, will the recipient find it in the SPAM box .......therefore not see
it at all .....
I think that T-Online made the right decision to reject e-mails without
a valid DKIM record. SPAM levels must have probably gone right down ....
What is worse, not being to send the e-mail (T-Online) or being able to send
the e-mail, but knowing it will end up in the SPAM folder .........????
Running a mailserver from an IP Adress Range which is flagged for beeing dynamic for end customer dial up is a bad idea. Many big mailproviders will block mailserver using this adresses, than you can only go to every provider and beg to mails from your server. And if your IP changes you can start over.
It is better to grab a cheap VPS and hope that the IP you get is not burned already by beeing listed on several Spam blocklists.
You are also not tied to a provider than. If you use a docker solution for your mailserver you simply backup that folder, move it to the new VPS, adjust the DNS Zone entries and you are done.
The only thing i am figuring out right now is how to transfer my mail the most clever way.
I agree with you, that is why I wrote below:
(Only need Static IPv4 and PTR record to be set for the domain name).
and you can CUT out the need for VPS.
They can be cheap, but how about space?
Is there a cheap VPS that offers 1-2TB of space?
IF so, please let me know :)
And of you want 2TB of space then you can do that with your home server :)
- Domain name
- Static IPv4 and PTR record to be set for the domain name by your ISP (decent one needed :)
- Old Micro PC
- Upgrade HDD to SDD according to your needs/budged
- Upgrade RAM if neededs/budged
- Install - https://mailinabox.email/guide.html
I have already made the Step. I have a VPS at Contabo where i have 400GB of Space and a non burned static IP.
Getting the thing running with Docker Mailserver took only a couple of hours.
Already canceled my Webhosting at OVH.
There is "Updated" version of "Activating the 100M free hosting plan" - KB0040354
the staff/author forgot to mention that MX Plan 1 is useless if you want to e-mail people who operate decent e-mail server e.g. T-Mobile DE ......

I can confirm there are no methods for anything DKIM related for MX plans in old API console: https://eu.api.ovh.com/console/#/email/mxplan. DKIM Methods exist only for Exchange a Pro products.
I tried also new API console - https://eu.api.ovh.com/console-preview/?section=%2Femail%2Fmxplan&branch=v1#overview, same result.
Has anyone succeeded on MX plan to configure DKIM?
I have purchased the mx-plan service for many customers. In my opinion, emails don't work if they don't reach their destination. In this case the service does not work and, if the service does not work, ovh must fix it immediately. Otherwise OVH will have to pay the damages. Is there something unfair in my speech? I'd like to know your opinion.
thanks for this thread. Have been looking as well to activate DKIM for my domains. I am also on this basic plan. I cannot find how to set it up, so I suppose it's not supported. This is very annoying and amateuristic!
DKIM has now (2026/01) been implemented to be automatically set-up during the provisioning process,
however DKIM signature does not include the "SUBJECT" of the e-mail sent and in some clients displaying an "Warning" = "Header 'Subject" is not signed" or e-mails not being delivered.
see my post on this subject here:

Please see that topic https://community.ovhcloud.com/community/en/dkim-valid-signed-by-domain-name-warning-header-subject-is-not-signed?id=community_question&sys_id=23ebbb7c2cb2fe501e1169fdd041f531
I have replied there.
