Problem of validation of CNAME, while having both a free plan and Email PRO

Hi OVH community,

First of all happy new year yo every one :)

I have a question that seems very easy to fix, but I have not figured out so far on my side, unfortunately.

I have an issue while configuring my OVH email-pro account. I am blocked a the step to validate the CNAME (below).

However, the CNAME has been correctly created following OVH guideline within OVH (XXX-check IN Cname ovh.com.). I have waited few hours already.

Below our the steps I followed  :

- The domain of my website is managed by OVH

- I Already had a Free Email plan that I used

-I Subscribed to OVH EMAIL PRO

-I Created an "Non-autoritative" mode. I chose as target server mx0.mail.ovh.net

-I created the CNAME on OVH

-I still have the issue about the validation of the CNAME

Many thanks

Hey @Dominique Lin

I'm so sorry for what's happening to you.

Although it may seem silly, try the following:

- Clear browser caché, sometimes, a cached version of the DNS record can cause problems. Clearing the browser cache can help ensure that the user is seeing the latest version of the record.

- Try with a different browser 😉

Let me know how it goes,

It won't let me edit the previous post..

I forgot to mention the DNS propagation. Imagine DNS servers as a large library of internet addresses. When you make a change (like creating a CNAME), that new information needs to be updated in all the books in that library. This process can take between 24 and 48 hours, sometimes even a bit longer.

Sergio Turpín

Hello,

it is a pity you didn't disclose the full CNAME you have been asked to register.

Please note that your DNS zone is hosted by Wix and not OVH. You should create the CNAME there.

As soon as you have elected Wix as your zone DNS hosting, please note that dns109.ovh.net. ns109.ovh.net are defunct, and all actions taken there are useless.

It's your choice...
