Ubuntu VPS starter plan

Hello community, i am new to VPS/RDP things, i am looking to buy VPS, I only need that for web surfing! browsing only. Therefore I am looking to get ubuntu starter VPS, that is the cheapest one and can full fill my requirements, I don't need high end processing or software.
The reason I am posting here before I buy, does that work fine? would I get a GUI based Ubuntu VPS? Is it a shared VPS? And also I want to know after I buy the ubuntu VPS from OVH, is it easy to access my vps? i mean, do I only need to put in IP address and password in Remote Desktop Tool application in my computer and I am good to get into my VPS? or there is other work involved? kindly guide me.
