WordPress Update

Hello everyone,

I run www.ganmarathon.com on a personal plan. I'm experiencing some problems with wordpress. I've updated the php to the 8.1 version and then I tried to update wordpress also to reach the 6.1 but it didn't work out, at least from the site dashboard. Are there any reason why or maybe different procedure that I could use to perform the update successfully. Otherwise I'll be stuck with the 5.8.3 which does not allow me to use some important plugins.
