I just created an subfolder and installed a Joomla instance, now the PHP code is not being executed, but the code shows in the browser source code - any suggestion???

Which PHP version?

Instead of creating a subfolder in /www and installing Joomla there, create a /joomla folder at the same level as /www.

Hello,

Please check for a presence of a file names .htaccess in that subfolder. If there is one, can you post here its contents ?

Are your PHP files uploaded with a filename ending in ".php" in lowercase ?
