Hello Community,
I am trying to set HA for my firewalls VMs running on BareMetal servers in 2 DCs in OVH. I am using the failover IP as my WAN IP and every time i need to have failover of my firewall, I need to move the failover IP every time.
Is there a way to make the failover IP be available across 2 DCs all the time instead of having to move it anytime?
Basically i need a public that is linked to two hosts in two different DCs without need to move the IP anytime.
Any alternatives set-up i can use within OVH?
I would appreciate if anyone has faced the same challenge before and managed to sort it can share ideas.
Thanks and i appreciate in advance.

Hi @MichaelG27,
Is the problem you have to move the IP FailOver manualy ?
Because you can automate this via OVH API i think.
PS : I'm not running HA.
Yes, basically trying to avoid IP move whether manual or via API (from experience with IP failover move, it is not instant, meaning if you running HA you could have 1-5minutes downtime which makes HA useless with this).
Just wondering if there is a way to have the IP reachable across two DCs without need to move it anytime.
Regards
Micah
Correct.
The only thing I see for that is a load balancer.
Have you seen this ? https://www.ovhcloud.com/en-gb/network/load-balancer/
Hello,
have you seen this guide ?

On my vRack seems i only have dedicated servers as eligible services to add to vRack but not IP blocks as per the guide. Anything i am missing?
Thanks. I was trying to avoid this option, but seems worth checking out. I will have a look at it and test it
Hello,
Have you buy IP block ?
Do you meet the "Requirements" ?
