Hi, is it possible to create a WordPress multisite (or network) without installing a WordPress module on each subdomain?

I have been unable to find any answers to my question, they all say to setup multisite from the OVH dashboard and then install 1-click module on each sub-domain.

Can I create a *.domain.com and then setup a WordPress Multisite Network following this guide: https://wordpress.org/support/article/create-a-network/
