I retrieved the admin credentials to manage a site hosted at OVH on WordPress. This site was created in 2015 by a web agency.
I want to update this site and I connect using the FTP and phpMySQL credentials whose codes and access are on my dashboard associated with the domain/site.
When connecting via FTP, the files do not seem to be those of the current site, which continues to run and that I administer directly on WordPress (adding pages, new accounts, articles, etc.). The files I see in FTP are dated, the most recent being from 2020.
It’s the same with the database; I only find old data.
The only possibility I see (but I’m not an IT professional) is that the web agency hosted the site elsewhere and OVH only provides the domain name and email. But if that’s the case, why do some old data appear there?
Thank you in advance for your help, which would allow me to solve my problem (access the real site data), or help me understand what is happening.

If you go to Web Cloud > Hosting, look for your domain in the table and check the ‘Root folder’. That folder is where the files you see when browsing your website are located. The old files you find in the FTP root are probably from a previous installation or from another site that is no longer in use.
If you go to Domains > DNS zone, and replace the IP addresses (A and AAAA) of cluster130 with those of cluster114, you will have full control of your site... but what state is it in?
Without assistance from your provider, we are a bit in the dark about giving you recommendations...
Your former provider can change the contact to transfer the hosting offer to you; for that, here’s what they’ll need to do from their client area:
Step 1 of 4: Click your first name at the top right, Step 2 of 4: Then click “My account” then “Contact management”, you’ll then see the list of your services.
• On the line of each service, the three contacts will be listed: administrative, technical and billing.
Step 3 of 4: Click the three dots to the right of your service(s) to edit the contacts and replace the identifiers, Step 4 of 4: Validation e‑mails will then be sent to the e‑mail addresses linked to the two accounts.
• To validate this modification, simply follow the instructions sent in the e‑mails (current identifier and the new one).
Unfortunately, without cooperation from the provider currently holding your hosting, we are at a dead end
In the multisite part of your hosting, you’ll find the reference of your hosting in this form: XXXX.cluster114.ovh.net. Opening it in a browser tab will show the site that lives on this offer. If it works, change the DNS records to point your domain name to this hosting.
Otherwise, you can work on this site using temporarily this direct URL of your cluster, then change the DNS pointing once the website is operational
