Hi, i got a 1gbps VPS and checkig this graphic, I don't know if I'm using 60.000.000 BITS per second (which means a 6% of traphic ussage) or 60.000.000 BYTES per second (which is 60% of my server capacity).
Do you know the answer?
Hello,
VPS offer is in Byte/sec : 1 GBps = 100 Mo / sec
I know what they offer. But one thing is the offer, and other thing is what the show on the Monitoring.
If the max is 100, this should be impossible:
It's not clear because they don't show Bps, or bps, or Bits per second, or Bytes per second... They show BPS (all in caps) which makes all confusing so I still don't know if the monitoring tool shows bytes or bits.
If they are bytes, my second screen should be impossible, I shouldn't be able to reach 1.2gbps or 1.4gbps.
You’re right, it’s a shame to write “BPS” instead of “Bps.”
For short bursts, I would say that the physical interfaces of the hosts can go beyond a gigabyte, so it’s possible you might temporarily exceed it. Why not run a transfer test and see what it looks like on the monitoring graph?
