I'm purchasing a new domain, in the registration page it is asked the country of residence but Italy is not in the list…also if I try to contact the assistance I get prompted to fill in the same form.

Don't worry please its not a big issue you can choose any other country while purchasing a domain. If it make any issue then rather than posting here directly mail them they will sort out your query within 48 hours.
