Domain purchased but stuck in the “sold by a third party” status

Hello everyone,

I bought a domain name from a third party yesterday morning and received the transfer code.
On OVH, the interface only offers me to purchase it for €90 because the domain is "sold by a third party".

I just need to be able to transfer the domain name without going through that purchase step, but it seems OVH doesn't allow it.
Has anyone encountered this problem?

I tried contacting support, but the first response directed me to the procedure for transferring a domain...

I checked with two other hosts and they ask for the transfer code, which shows that it's technically possible.

Thanks in advance and have a great day!

Hello

I am interested in the solution.

Hello @jeremyw92,

Usually when an owner is interested in selling a domain, they list it on resale portals such as Sedo or Aftermarket. If the process is done from scratch with Ovhcloud, those "purchase" costs to the primary holder and the transfer to OVH are already covered.

If the buy‑sell process has started outside of OVH, it is necessary to check whether that "Secondary market" status can be removed, although the previous holder could also request its removal from these resale platforms.

Can you share the domain in this thread?
