Domain with anycast – unable to modify DNS zone (zone not authoritative for the domain)

Hello,

I would like to modify the DNS zone of one of my domains for which Anycast is enabled, but I can’t manage it.

A message says that "This DNS zone is not authoritative for your domain name".

I feel it’s a conflict between OVH’s standard DNS servers and the Anycast ones that are both activated at the same time. I tried disabling Anycast, but that can apparently only take effect at the end of the subscription (February). I also considered removing the DNS servers to keep only the Anycast ones, but they are automatically reinstated by OVH.

What can I do to be able to update the DNS zone?

Thanks for your help

Hello,

what’s the domain name, please?

The domain is ibsacare.fr

Hello,

The servers dns11.ovh.net and ns11.ovh.net also respond for your domain. But according to the SOA, it is indeed dns200.anycast.me that is responsible for your DNS zone.

The DNS zones between these servers are properly synchronized according to the serial number, and this serial number does not follow the standard numbering adopted by OVH (2080845428 instead of a date).

Are you sure you have the Admin role for the "DNS Zone" part in "contact management"?

Hello,

If their robot seems lost, I suggest temporarily setting custom DNS to dns200.anycast.me and ns200.anycast.me, waiting for the robot to pass and hoping it doesn’t wipe the anycast DNS zones, then reinstating the official anycast DNS. Otherwise, open a ticket with OVH so they can give the robot a solid kick.

Yes, I tried connecting with the Administrator contact and with the Technical contact.

Not any better.

I had already tried this solution but OVH automatically reinstated the other OVH servers.

I'm trying my luck again!

Via the Domains > DNS Servers tab, what is there?

If you add dns11.ovh.net and ns11.ovh.net and remove the two anycast.me entries, is that accepted?

Note: there is no need to add or modify the SOA and NS in the DNS zone tab.

@fritz2cat , I tried but the 2 anycast servers are restored automatically.

Create an incident ticket, I give up.

Hello @williamVD

Create an Incident ticket:

Manager OVH > https://www.ovh.com/manager/#/dedicated/useraccount/dashboard > My support requests > Create a request / ticket

then:

Call OVH support at +33 9 72 10 10 07.
Prefer between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. in the morning, or around 3 p.m. there is less waiting.

Or already now on Twitter @ovh_support_fr or #OVHcloudsupport

OK @Gaston, I created a ticket. Thanks

Thanks @fritz2cat for trying to help me. I’ll see what’s next with support.
