HA-NAS and Active Directory

We're looking to expand our existing infrastructure in OVH, using HA-NAS, is there way to configure sharing and permissions for folders in HA-NAS using the Active Directory.

Hey @WaheedU

OVHcloud offers High Availability Network Storage (HA-NAS) solutions that can be integrated with Windows-based systems using the CIFS/SMB protocol. This integration allows for the ability to manage permissions and share folders using Active Directory (AD).

To configure the HA-NAS with Active Directory, you need to mount the storage on a Windows server that is part of the AD domain. Once mounted, access permissions to folders and files can be set using standard Windows management tools, such as access control lists.

For more information on how to mount the HA-NAS on a Windows server and manage permissions, you can consult the official OVHcloud documentation:

Let me know how it goes,

Yes, you can use Active Directory with OVHcloud HA-NAS, but not directly on the storage itself. HA-NAS works via CIFS/SMB, so the usual approach is to integrate it through a Windows server that is joined to your AD domain.

How it works:

All access control is handled on the Windows/AD side, not directly on HA-NAS.
