I am truly amazed at how complicated it can be offer services and how user-unfriendly a dashboard can be. There is a contact telephone number that cannot be used to get in contact. I also don't understand how a subdomain can be defined for a domain. I would expect to see a “Create new subdomain” button in the list of subdomains. It is not clear what services my customer's account includes. There is no indication of where to initiate a WordPress installation. I can't find the page where I can set up FTP access. I can see that there are no databases yet and I can't see whether it's possible to create one for my customer's contract.
Strato, for example, is very simple, even though it's a bit chaotic. And then I'm glad that I've had my servers with Ionos for more than 15 years. I can do things myself because it's self-explanatory, and if I have a problem, I can call support, who always help and don't cost 60 euros a month.
My only hope here is that there is a nice and friendly community that can perhaps give me a tip or two. But I don't think it's right to pass on what the provider should be doing to a community that voluntarily sacrifices its time to share its knowledge and help other users.
My specific questions are:
Where exactly can I see which services are included in my customer's contract? And I don't mean marketing terms for some service packages, but the specific services.
Where can I set up a subdomain?
How do I initiate a WordPress installation?
Where do I define FTP access or where can I find the access data?
Thank you in advance for your help.
