KS-6 transferred to a new account - unable to manage reverse DNS, IP page shows no linked service

Hello,

I recently received a KS-6 dedicated server through an OVHcloud account transfer.

The server itself is fully operational and network connectivity is working correctly. Forward DNS resolution has already been verified and appears to be configured properly.

However, I am unable to manage reverse DNS (PTR records) for either IPv4 or IPv6 from the OVH Manager.

When attempting to configure reverse DNS, OVH Manager returns errors indicating that the requested IP object does not exist.

In addition, on the IP management page, the following fields are empty ("-") for both IPv4 and IPv6:

  • Region

  • Country

  • Linked Service

  • Reverse DNS

Because the server was recently transferred between OVHcloud accounts, I suspect that the IP resources may not have been fully synchronized or associated with the new account.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue after an account transfer?

If so:

  • How long did it take before reverse DNS management became available?

  • Did the issue resolve automatically after synchronization?

  • Or did OVH Support need to manually refresh or reattach the IP resources?

I have already opened a support ticket with OVHcloud, but I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has encountered the same situation.

Thank you.

Hi,

Creating a ticket is the right thing to do in this kind of situation.
As for the timeframe… we can’t really say, but generally on the Dedicated side it’s rather reasonable.
