I have VPS 1 2018
So I keen to have apart from couple of small Wordpress sites (my portfolio) a desktop!
To have Kubuntu 14 soundz good, but what about latest 18th version? Should be running fine on VPS1 2018 isnt it?
I'm trying to update Kubuntu 14 > 16 > 18 but takes ages and seems I loose lots if not all of preconfigured stuff, also in 16 seems like I already lost GUI !!!
So another way is to install Ubuntu 18 Server and KDE Plasma on top, but does not seems to be recomended in general.
Any expierience and thoughts on topic or better exectarecomandations plz???

P.S. Is there a way to install any of endlessless Cloud OSes like Joly OS or Zero PC, but seems like I will not be able to run WP same time or is there a way to install both on VPS 1 2018? Have no expirience w it at all…
after finishing endless Kubuntu 14-16-18 update and answering billion of questions (not sure if right) I got no GUI and after trying to run:
startx
got GUI w Kubuntu 18.04, KDE Plasma 5.12.6, Krenel V 4.15.0-38-generic
So how good is this setup? Shall I change to Ubunto 18.04 server w installed plasma on top of it? I assume OVH settings will be better preserved in this case? What about security in comparision of this 2 methods? (I understand it goes nuts w GUI)
Shall I use:
killall Xorg
to exit GUI to not use resources when not using GUI and start again when needed with:
startx
or there is another better way?
Again what about WP? Is it a good idea to install it on Kubuntu? Or better to go with Ubuntu 18.04 server and place Plasma on top?
MY PRIMARY OBJECTIVE IS WP SITE HOSTING, GUI IS SECONDARY

Seems like RAM and CPU monitoring is lost in OVH Monitoring tab:
No monitoring data found
Also I guess I answered my own question about what is better for me - Ubuntu 18.04 server + KDE Plasma, as my primary objective is WP hosting. Now have to find a way how to activate/deactivate Plasma more efficiently to clean up RAM and CPU resources while not using GUI - any ideas?
May be writing some kill script, like:
killall plasmashell
killall plasma-discover
killall kwin_x11
killall kded5
killall Xorg
killall krunner
etc…
but its suks I can not monitor recourses from OVH not from Plasma GUI so I can compare real difference - so I use
Putty + glances
