Domain name still in validation stage after nearly 4 days

It’s been 4 days today since I bought a domain name from OVH, the card was successfully charged but the domain is still at the validation stage. I created a ticket and haven’t received any feedback from customer support.

PS: it’s my first time with OVH

Hello @Amadou

Domain .com .fr or other?

Depending on the country, domain registration procedures can be long..

Did OVH ask you to provide identity documents or anything else?

C’est une extension .com, et ils viennent tout juste de me faire un retour soit disant qu’ils ne peuvent pas donner suite à ma commande sans aucune raison explicite après 4jrs d’attente. Sans oublié qu’ils ont bien débité ma carte de crédit.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for choosing OVHcloud. Unfortunately, we cannot continue with the confirmation of your order.

The order had to be cancelled for one of the following reasons:

  • Your personal information is inaccurate or needs to be updated, which goes against Article 2.1 of our General Terms and Conditions of Service, which you agreed to;

  • You need to update the payment methods saved to your customer account;

  • We are currently verifying your account as set out in Article 2.2 of our General Terms and Conditions of Service, which you agreed to.

Please review and correct the above elements before placing a new order. If we don't hear from you, we may suspend some or all of your services.

Best wishes,

The OVHcloud Team

Hello @Amadou

The first and most important thing is that you log into your client area and verify that all your personal information (address, name, country) is correct and matches that of your credit card. This is what usually fails in these cases.

The payment pre‑authorization you see on your card should be automatically cancelled within 9 to 29 days, depending on your bank. OVHcloud only actually charges the order when it is delivered, and since it is cancelled, no charge is made.

I hope I have helped you, best regards.

Thanks, sturpin.

Well received, @Gaston. Thank you

Hello,

Finally, were your (postal address) details correct and complete?

Not at all, there was a typo. I had to correct it, and I’m waiting to verify everything properly before placing a new order.
