I currently have a Cloud Web 2 plan, recently renewed and paid up until July 2027.
My e‑commerce site is currently running on PrestaShop 1.7 and must remain in production while I simultaneously prepare its migration to PrestaShop 9.
My issue concerns the databases included in my plan: when I try to create a new DB, OVH only offers MySQL 5.6, which is now an obsolete version and incompatible with PrestaShop 9's requirements.
I would therefore like to know if, with my current Cloud Web plan, it is possible to create a new MySQL database on a recent version, without modifying or migrating my existing databases and without subscribing to a new paid database offering.
If that isn’t possible, could you also confirm which exact MySQL version is currently provided with a START SQL database?

With the Cloud Web 2 offering you won’t be able to create new MySQL databases in recent versions because OVHcloud no longer provides them in that plan.
Getting a START SQL would be a good option for you.
As an important note, please be aware that the CloudWeb offering is at End Of Life, meaning it will no longer be developed or maintained. All CloudWeb owners will receive an email in the coming weeks with migration alternatives to other products.
My recommendation is to pivot to a WebCloud Database solution where you have dedicated RAM, ample capacity, and the ability to choose multiple DBMS (MySQL, MariaDB, Postgre…) and set everything up there.
In my client area my professional shared hosting is labeled "Web Cloud," so can I conclude that it's good and that it isn’t reaching end‑of‑life? Or am I mistaken?
Given the end‑of‑life of my hosting offer, I think I’ll simply install Laragon and prepare my migration locally. Ideally, my presta 9 should be ready for the new hosting.
