Outlook on PC no longer works with OVH?

Hello;

"Your mailbox has been temporarily moved to the Microsoft Exchange server.
A temporary mailbox is available to you, but it may not contain all your previous data.
You can log in to the temporary mailbox or work offline with all your old data.
If you choose to work with your old data, you cannot send or receive email messages."

We have an MX‑plan email address for contacts and four Exchange email addresses for shared calendars.

The four Exchange email addresses were disconnected at six‑month intervals.
Since then, we have been forced to use OWA.

ExcludeExplicit0365Endpoint does not work.

We tried the OVH or Microsoft solutions; nothing works, even the IT troubleshooters are struggling.
If you know a company specialized in Exchange between OVH and Microsoft, that would be great, as would any solution you have.

Thanks :slight_smile:

Hi @florian2,

It's a trend in recent Microsoft updates for their apps to have more restrictions on being used with other providers, in order to "close" the ecosystem and keep everything within Microsoft.

Regarding the compatibility of the Exchange service with OVH, the current situation is:

  • New Outlook (free program that can be downloaded from the Windows Store). Not compatible with OVH accounts using the MAPI/ActiveSync protocol. Only OVH accounts used as IMAP would work.
  • Outlook Classic. Fully compatible with OVH Exchange accounts using the auto‑configurator with Autodiscover enabled. Includes collaborative features (calendar, contacts, etc.)

We would like compatibility to be maximal but Microsoft is taking this trend lately, there's little we can do about it :frowning:
