PHP CGI error 500 problem

Hello,

Following a somewhat resource‑intensive SSH command on my shared host (cat followed by a sort -u and gzip), I get a 500 error in the browser on all PHP files. The HTML files work, and PHP in the CLI works as well, but not in CGI.

What can I do?

Thanks

Hi,

I've seen other requests that look like yours.
Let's see, but your issue (PB) isn’t necessarily due to your command.

Hi @MathiasP_1

The most likely cause is that, during the process, some configuration file got affected, or that the system detected an activity that triggered a protection measure.

From your client area, go to the PHP settings of your hosting and change it to “Development” mode. When you reload your PHP page, you’ll see the exact error. It’s very likely it will point out the line and the code file that is failing.

Take a look here :backhand_index_pointing_down:

https://docs.ovhcloud.com/en/guides/web-cloud/web-hosting/diagnostic-fix-500-internal-server-error

It will help you detect the problem.

Let us know, regards.

Hello @MathiasP_1

Switch to development environment:

See in my guide the paragraph: [P2 - Error 500 - Development environment](https://wordetweb.com/word-et-web/WORDPRESS-guide-installation-de-WordPress-premier-domaine-chez-OVH-FR.htm#_W_-_PLUGINS “P2 - Error 500 - Development environment”)

Hello, I’m sending out a distress call; I’m not strong in the field of computing, which is why I’m asking for help. Is there anyone who could assist me? I created a site on my own using my OVH hosting provider and it worked fine until I noticed a bug. My site on Google was as built, but on my workstation it was no longer the same, so I couldn’t modify the elements on it. It’s a showcase site for renting my cottage in the Larzac. Later I tried to fix it with AI but I think I messed up, possibly with OVH. I went to MySQL and I think I performed a wrong operation. I can’t access my FTP even though my password was changed. I contacted OVH and they told me I had a 501 error, I think, and now I have no connection to my WordPress and my site is no longer visible on Google. I may have been too confident in my abilities. If a forum member feels able to help me, please let me know. Thank you in advance. JM

Hello Gaston, thanks for getting back to me, but my problem seems a bit complex and I’m looking for someone who could help me and, if needed, take control to resolve my two issues: retrieving my site from OVH and fixing the conflict between my site and the WordPress mod 921_post on MySQL. If you know anyone who’s available, I’m interested.
