Pourtant, pouvoir apporter des précisions en message privé, vouloir échanger sur un point particulier, voir un presta qui veut avoir + d'infos pour un chantier... Le message privé est la base...
Je démarche très rarement ici, mais il a pu m'arriver 2/3x de récupérer un nouveau client ici, ça c'est tjrs fait en commençant par des messages privés pour avoir un complément d'infos et donner les coordonnées "irl".
Ou bien entre "piliers de bar" du forum, à échanger quelques mots, sur un sujet annexe...
Bref, j'ai du mal à voir si c'est un problème technique, ou si vraiment, vous pensez sincèrement que c'est une bonne chose de ne pas avoir d'échanges privés sur un forum d'entre aide... Et si c'est bien la 2° raison qui prévaut... Ben... Ben en fait je n'arrive même pas à comprendre comment on peut en arriver à une telle conclusion...

C'est fort regrettable, car pour de nombreuses personnes qui viennent ici, et ne souhaitent pas forcément partager à tout le monde leur données personnelles, il sera alors difficile de les aider.
Et dans certains cas nous avons besoin d'informations précises et de soucis sans ajouter sur le sujet des tonnes de messages qui n'apporteront pas grand-chose à la communauté.
Le principal est surtout de poser le problème avec précision et de donner la solution à apporter.
Pourrais-je ajouter, que malgré tous les retours à la ligne que j'ai mis dans cette réponse via un smartphone, la présentation publiée est réduite à un seul paragraphe. C'est à la fois horrible et parfois cela rend difficilement compréhensible la réponse.
Je n'utilisais pas régulièrement les messages privés mais parfois on n'a pas le choix.
Dans certains cas la personne qui expose un problème est dans l'impossibilité de dévoiler en public des renseignements, soit qu'il s'agisse de se conformer aux règlementations de la vie privée, ou simplement lorsqu'il s'agit d'une agence qui ne peut pas dévoiler en public le nom de domaine de ses clients.
Le fait d'avoir choisi un produit qui n'a pas cette fonctionnalité de MP, c'est une erreur de votre part.

In reality the private‑message function does exist and I’ve already used it.
That said, it’s a real mess to use.
Unfortunately there’s no button under the post to instantly access private messages to the person who created the thread.
You have to go to the left‑hand menu: Messages → open another private message and search for the author of the post as the recipient you want to send a private message to.
During the video with Axel last Monday, I pointed out this issue.
I hope Axel can bring this little problem to the people who manage and develop this forum.

I find it odd that this post resurfaced like this, but I’ll take the chance to explain how to do it on the new platform.
Just click once on the avatar of the person of your choice and then click on:
- Direct message to exchange a private message directly on the forum
- Discussion if you want to start a chat exchange

The menus are centralized in the sidebar.
Private messages (called direct messages in this version) are already present there.
Should we also have the button for discussions, in your opinion?

As I indicated above, I used the route through the messages area.
But, for me, it's a hassle to have to type the @ and the username of the person you want to reply to.
Hence the usefulness of having a small button at the bottom of the person's message that explains their problem; it allows you to reply via a private message without having to select the @ and the person's username.

I’m having a bit of trouble keeping up with you, I might be missing something, but for example I just click on the avatar in your reply, and it opens the little menu that Fabien showed in his screenshot:
- If I want to talk to you via private messaging (chat): I click on “Discussion”, and it opens a chat window directly with you.
- If I want to reply by sending you a private message (more like an email): I click on “Direct message” and it opens a window to send you a private, email‑style message with the link to the relevant answer.
- A third option, a “button” type, at the top of the window next to your avatar: you can click on the speech‑bubble to open the “DM” chat, click the “+”, and you can talk to anyone in chat mode.
I have no problem. It can stay like that. It’s clear, crystal‑clear.
What’s less clear, @gaston, why did you dig up my old 2024 post about the former ServiceNow platform? I don’t get it.
The topic showed up this afternoon in the right‑hand pane when I clicked on my icon.
