Schedule & Download Backups

It would be great to have the ability to set a reoccurring schedule for the backup of an instance or volume.

I'd also like to be able to get the backup images off the OVH platform somehow, just for additional peace of mind, either direct download or copy to object storage.

@NickH you do know about the existence of the OVH API ?

with that you can easily schedule it yourself, especially before/after database have been synced and quenched or put into backup mode, and the restart/take out of backup mode once done.

Have you had a look at the Openstack API?
It allows you to access a wider range of functions that are normally hidden, including downloading snapshots/backups.
Here's instructions on how to set up your environment to use it https://docs.ovh.com/gb/en/public-cloud/prepare_the_environment_for_using_the_openstack_api/
You may also cinder client (python_cinderclient)
I've found that the packages work best on Ubuntu 16.04, rather than Debian or Centos

You will need to create an OpenStack user from the OVH manager, and download the openstack configuration file.
