DNS server and DNS zone misaligned

Hello

I am reaching out to inform you of an error message displayed on the OVH interface. I don’t know whether I can do anything at my level or if OVH must act. Below are the screenshots I see for the same domain name purchased recently:

DNS Zone with an error message

DNS Server

For your information I sent a message to OVH support more than a week ago but I have not yet received any response; it’s rather a long monologue. Here is roughly what my message said:

Hello, my domain has a “DS records update” operation stuck in the “To be processed” state (error: error while querying domain name in name server ns109.ovh.net for getting DNSKEYS).
Furthermore, my DNS zone shows it is hosted on ns106/dns106.ovh.net while the domain is delegated to ns109/dns109.ovh.net. My other domain, ordered at the same time, is indeed on
ns106/dns106 and works. Please realign the DNS servers and the DNSSEC status for the non‑functional domain name.

Do you think I can do anything, for example change the DNS zone to align it with the DNS server? Or should I just be patient? Thank you in advance

Hello,

Without your domain name, we can't really give you any advice.
I've never seen at OVH a same domain having a DNS zone on two pairs of servers (except for anycast + two classic ns/dns servers).

Hello @moka

When a domain name is transferred or purchased at OVHcloud, internal DNS servers are assigned to it based on availability; if these are changed, DNS resolution will no longer work.

Feel free to open a support ticket from the help centre of your client area and share the ticket number here; I will be able to assign the ticket to myself and force a DNS resynchronisation for your domain name in order to resolve this issue.

Hello and thank you for your responses.

I just noticed that OVH support has replied to my ticket. Apparently, according to their messages, the DNS servers that were assigned to me (ns109) were not the correct servers, and a modification has been made. Now I just have to wait for DNS propagation and it should be fine.

Thank you.

The expected propagation time is between 24 and 48 h, just like for a DNS server change, but it can very well happen sooner
