I am looking for advice regarding a fairly urgent situation with my domain lacabaneauxbijoux.fr.
I am the legitimate owner of this domain. It was previously managed by my usual provider and was transferred to OVHcloud without my request or authorization.
A complaint has been filed with the police, and a case is already open with OVHcloud support as well as the Abuse / Trust & Safety team.
Since the transfer, I have lost control of the DNS, my website is unavailable, and my professional .fr email no longer receives messages.
I also noticed in Google Search Console that two unknown Google accounts verified themselves as owners of the site using HTML files placed on the domain. A Search Console migration from another unknown domain to mine was also triggered.
I have even received a cryptocurrency payment demand in exchange for the return of the domain.
The standard phone support could not intervene, and for now I am awaiting a response from the appropriate teams.
Has anyone here encountered a similar case of a fraudulent .fr domain transfer to OVHcloud?
Do you know if there is a specific procedure or a way to get an escalation to the team handling domain name disputes / Trust & Safety?
Your issue is odd because there is no trace of any domain theft. The owner's information is unchanged and clearly visible in the WHOIS, showing your yahoo.fr address and your mobile number ***5852 ...
Actually, the issue does not concern a change of registrant. I am still the rightful registrant of the domain, which explains why my details still appear in the Whois.
However, the Whois history clearly shows a change of registrar:
– on 12/09/2026: registrar NETIM;
– on 18/09/2026: registrar OVH.
The DNS servers have also changed and the domain appears with the status transferPeriod, which corresponds to the period following a successful transfer between registrars.
I never requested nor authorized this transfer from NETIM to OVH. That is precisely the reason for my report.
Keeping my details as the registrant is normal during a registrar change and therefore does not mean that there was no transfer.
I have never witnessed this kind of case.
I’m interested in understanding what follows...
By the way, do you have control over this domain and the DNS zone in your OVH client area?
No, actually: I do not have control of the domain nor the DNS zone in my OVH client area.
The domain was indeed transferred from NETIM to OVH without my permission, but it does not appear in my OVH account. I am still listed as the registrant in the Whois, but I have no access to domain management or the DNS.
That is precisely the problem: someone managed to transfer the domain to OVH and take technical control of it, while leaving my registrant details unchanged.
