Mailbox 90% full

Hello community! For the past few days I’ve been receiving an email saying my mailbox is 90% full even though I’ve deleted everything for the past three days. The refresh isn’t happening on OVH, I still have the same storage capacity as before I deleted my mails.
If anyone has the same problem and has solved it, could you please help me because I’m no longer receiving my work emails....
Thanks a lot!

Hello @Sandrine1

Warning, the quota in the client area may take some time to update. I invite you to rely on the quota shown in the OVHcloud webmail: https://mail.ovh.net/

To view the quota in webmail: https://docs.ovhcloud.com/fr/guides/web-cloud/email-and-collaborative-solutions/troubleshooting/email-manage-quota#depuis-le-webmail

If your quota is indeed at 90%, it will be necessary to sort preferably directly in webmail.

Otherwise, you still have two other options:

  1. Archive your e‑mails from a mail client:
  1. Migrate to a mail platform offering a larger storage capacity, for example:
  • Zimbra Starter: 15 GB of storage for €0.36 incl. tax per month.

  • Zimbra Pro: 50 GB of storage for €2.39 incl. tax per month.
More information on these offers: https://www.ovhcloud.com/fr/emails/

  • Professional email: 15 GB of storage for €1.91 incl. tax per month.

  • Hosted Exchange: 50 GB of storage for €5.03 incl. tax per month.

  • Hosted Exchange: 300 GB of storage for €15.83 incl. tax per month.
More information on these offers: https://www.ovhcloud.com/fr/emails-exchange/

To migrate your account to a plan with a larger storage capacity, I invite you to consult our guide: https://help.ovhcloud.com/csm/fr-email-address-migration-to-exchange?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0053486

Thanks for your 2 links:

very helpful @Asterix

Thanks @Asterix for your reply.
I completely emptied my OVH mailbox (all folders and trash) and the one I use (eM Client).
I prefer its newer interface over Thunderbird. I only have 2 emails left in the 2 mailboxes, which have no attachments, so no storage. I would like to be able to receive my work emails, that would help me!
Anyway, thanks for shedding light on the subject :slightly_smiling_face:

Log in to the webmail (https://www.ovhcloud.com/fr/mail/) to see what actually is in the mailbox (source of truth).

I just went to check. The box is empty and the hard drive is at 0 %. I have to admit I don’t understand any of it anymore. I’m not a total noob with computers, but now… I’m overloaded!
I’ll go back later. Or otherwise, I’ll go back to Outlook with my professional address via OVH.

Thanks @TTY for your help

Do you see in the client area, email section, a tool to recalculate your mailbox quota based on the list of mailboxes?

I’m suggesting this because I can’t remember where that button used to be, among the various email types, databases, or FTP spaces.

On the webmail the inbox is completely empty and you’re no longer receiving test mails?
Is it an MXplan (Roundcube or Exchange)? Mail Pro? Hosted Exchange?

As @fritz2cat said, if MXplan Roundcube you have a button in the manager to recalculate the volume next to each email address.

It's an MXplan Roundcube and I want to receive my emails somewhere other than the Roundcube interface, which I find rather outdated. At the beginning of the setup everything worked fine until I got this email saying my mailbox was 90% full …
I clicked that button to refresh but apparently it takes time for everything to be “cleaned”. Anyway, thanks a lot for your help
If the problem persists, I’ll delete eM Client and go back to Outlook :woman_shrugging:
