Hello
Once again, after 17/2 and then 5/3, I notice that the mail function hasn't been working since this morning at 9 am on my shared hosting.

Hello,
And it's happening again, once more the mail function hasn’t been working since this morning!!
Ticket No. CS15878745
It works again ... as usual, I suppose that in a few days I’ll get a message from support announcing that no anomaly was detected on my hosting ... and a few days later the satisfaction survey on the support service ...
It’s still very annoying to have to regularly check whether email sending works, and it’s not without impact on my business due to the loss of client messages.
Lost messages? Or transmitted with delay?
I’d say lost because never received.
A scheduled‑task email at 5 a.m. wasn’t received, which alerted me, and two test emails were sent shortly before I wrote my message.
How many client messages were lost in the meantime?
At least one message.
No record in the DB?
Do sends via submission/smtps work better?
The mail() function should really be avoided, especially if the messages are important.
#TTY
No, I don’t log all messages sent to the DB; I only do it for a section of my site to know the sender’s IP. I might have to consider doing it for everything, but it’s cumbersome.
#Sich
I don’t have an SMTP sending script; I don’t even know what it looks like.
I don’t know if submission via SMTP works better, but I still see on the forum that there are also issues.
I notice that this morning, starting at around 7:10 am, the mail () function stopped working again!!!
It’s already the fourth time I’ve observed this this year, which doesn’t mean it hasn’t failed more often.

Hello,
I don't know if you're talking about the same issue I've had since yesterday:
I received an email from OVH telling me that the mail() function in PHP is disabled on my shared hosting, following detected SPAM (41 in one hour).
That seems odd to me because I don't have any form or anything like that on my site (and I haven't made any changes for quite a while).
Moreover, the button to reactivate the email doesn't work (it “mouline” and then refreshes the button, and doesn't reactivate the email...).
Meanwhile, in the email logs, I have messages of this type about emails I send to myself (xxx@yyy.com is my own email address):
Final-Recipient: rfc822; xxx@yyy.com Original-Recipient: rfc822;xxx@yyy.com Action: failed Status: 5.4.6 Diagnostic-Code: X-Postfix; mail for webhosting.mail-out.ovh.net:25 loops back to myself
Could this be related?
In the meantime, no more emails, and while waiting for a support reply......Ugh..
Hello,
What is the MX record of your domain that you have masked yyy.com?
In the web logs, could you see if there is any notable event at the same time as the spam generation?
The domain yyy.com is a domain at OVH with an MSX plan, with the following MX records:
IN MX 1 mx1.mail.ovh.net.
IN MX 100 mx3.mail.ovh.net.
IN MX 5 mx2.mail.ovh.net.
For the web logs, strangely, they are always empty (174 bytes), regardless of the date …
For yesterday, for example, only the line:
5.135.54.113 inpreciokz.cluster027.hosting.ovh.net - [10/Jun/2026:12:02:03 +0200] "GET /__ovh/info HTTP/1.1" 200 176 "-" "hosting/cronproxy"
I thought that previously I did have all the logs, though…
Same for me on my two sites
Same as me or as Jean-arthurS
If, like me, you have filed a ticket
It’s working again… for how long… the outage still lasted almost 5 h!!!
That’s still a recurring outage at OVH!
Tell me, your domain name yyy.com isn’t actually inpreciokz.cluster027.hosting.ovh.net?
Could you share that domain name with me via private message if you don’t want to expose it publicly?
Yes, I submitted a ticket. How long will it work again?
The spam state has nothing to do with the failure of the mail() function I reported; in my case I never entered that state.
The fact that it also works again for Bernard after he opened a ticket just like I did clearly shows there’s a problem on OVH’s side with this function.
Thanks, I think I can mention it: astroz.com

If you want to use your hosting on cluster027, go to Domains > DNS zone
and change 213.186.33.5 to 54.36.91.62, then wait an hour before retesting.
