It seems we will receive an official statement about what is happening right now after the urgent operation on the OpenStack/KVM cloud that will last several days/nights.
I mentioned one possible reason in a comment, but probably we shouldn’t discuss it publicly for the time being.
But it looks like the urgent need coincided with another planned operation that is also complicated.

I had 2 servers with 2 or 3 alerts each in total over a day/night. The operation looks delicate.
Yes, OVHcloud is undergoing a full technical transformation 
It looks like a rescue, it would be “only” the security patch, and it seems to take a very long time to apply.
They are talking about 100K physical servers
