iPad - Unable to connect to the FORUM

Context:

  • iPad iOS version 15.8.8
  • FIREXOX version 156.1

However, connection and management good for:

  • Android smartphone with FIREXOX version 156.0
  • Windows 11 with VIVALDI version 8.2.4133.68

The problem is that you need to set the system to Spanish for everything to work :upside_down_face:

The combination of your iPad with iOS 15.8.8 and Firefox 156.1 does not meet the minimum requirements that Discourse has required since mid‑2025 :backhand_index_pointing_down:

The forum has started using modern features that aren’t available on iOS 15.

Thanks @sturpin for your clear and quick answer.

So here's an iPad that still works very well, bought in 2015, and now is considered obsolete by some forums' criteria.

I forgot to mention that the issue also occurs with the Safari version on this iPad.

Do I have to throw this iPad away and spend a lot of money to buy another one just to follow the forum?

Discourse automatically shows a simplified HTML version for older browsers, which allows you to follow the conversations. You can keep accessing from your iPad to view, but you won’t be able to reply or open new topics.

Indeed, the problem is not the browser itself, but a set of modern technologies that Discourse started using which your system does not support. Keep in mind that all browsers you install inevitably use Apple’s WebKit engine :smirking_face:, so even if you switch browsers, you’ll have the same problem.
