Recently commissioned one of the new Advance-1 Gen 2 dedicated servers that just became available. The server is up and running and provisioned with Win Server 2019.
IPMI however is not working. I have a ticket open on this. Waiting on next response to ticket currently. We tested from multiple PCs and multiple locations to confirm it is a problem at OVH.
All earlier servers provided option for Browser based HTML5 KVM, OR Java applet.
OVH support tells me the Java applet (which is superior) is not available on the new Advance-1 servers.
The Browser based KVM loads and will display the screen, however it will not accept any keystrokes, nor will it accept "Send keys" to send things like CTRL-ALT-DEL making it entirely non functional.
This is a show stopper - in the event of a critical issue where you lose RDP access, you have no way to reach the server to affect repair. The probability of no RDP is high if the O/S fails to boot properly.
Anyone else got this issue? We have several older Advance servers and KVM (Web or Java) both work. This appears to be an issue with the new Advance servers that arrived in early 2022 or maybe late 2021.
Anyone else have this problem? Have you tested IPMI? If you haven't then its time to test it before you have a mega-crisis.
The problem is the Gigabyte MX33-BSD1-V1 motherboards. The solution is to request that OVH swap the mobo with the ASRock mobo. They had to do that on both servers to resolve the KVM non-functioning issue. Hope that helps someone. 5 days of hammering away at support to recognize and resolve the problem.
