I am in a scientific preparatory class and as part of my TIPE project, I would like to simulate cloud activity using host workloads. Indeed, my goal is to create an algorithm that optimizes the time cost of VM migrations in a cloud, and to illustrate or test it I would need real data—for example, CPU usage as a percentage over a certain period.
Is it possible to obtain such data? Or would it be simpler to obtain it by simulating VMs?
Hello,
I am in a science-focused preparatory class, and as part of my TIPE project, I would like to simulate cloud operations using host workloads. My goal is to create an algorithm to optimize the time cost of migrating VMs in a cloud, and to illustrate or test it, I would need real data—for example, CPU usage as a percentage over a certain period of time.
Is it possible to obtain such data? Or would it be easier to obtain it by simulating VMs?
Indeed, I would like an example of usage data/performance of an infrastructure in order to test my program to illustrate my presentation and discuss the efficiency of my work.
But it doesn't necessarily have to come from users; it can just as well come from a simulation or tests, for example. However, I don't know if there are ways to simulate the usage of such a database.
