Site down after plan change

Hello

I was on a Performance 2 plan and, seeing the price increase announced by email, I just switched to the Performance plan… as a result my site is no longer accessible and I get this message:

Warning: main(_DIR_/config.php) function.main: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/xxxx/domaine/xxxx/inclusions/_debut.php on line 6

Fatal error: main() function.require: Failed opening required '_DIR_/config.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/xxx/domaine/xxx/inclusions/_debut.php on line 6

Line 6 of the _debut.php file contains
require_once _DIR_. '/config.php';

I have created ticket no. CS15807977

In the meantime, if a kind soul could enlighten me

Is it a WordPress site or another CMS?

No, it's a personal coding site

Do you have hard‑coded addresses?
Did you double‑check all your configuration?

Here is a short guide I wrote that could give you some clarity for a Complete and clean installation of your Site.

Guide - Understanding the Relationship Domain → DNS Zone → Hosting → Site folder

See --> CMS - WordPress - Installation Guide at OVH

Read and check your situation by following the paragraphs carefully: A to J applicable to all CMSs and custom sites

Feel free to give me feedback: positive or negative.
That's how I refine my Guide.

Hello,

Did you migrate your site from one hosting provider to another, or did you keep the same hosting while reducing its capacity?

In the first case, I would suggest checking the consistency of the PHP settings in your client area, Hosting section.

Also check the root folder in the "multisite" tab.

Finally, it's a pity that you placed "xxxx" on information that could be useful.
It's also a pity that you didn't disclose the name of your site.

Thank you Gaston and Fritz for taking the time to look into my problem.

There are no hard‑coded addresses.
I didn't perform any verification after changing the plan; when I upgraded the plan a few years ago there were no problems, and I thought it would be the same, especially with the message received from OVH "The plan change of your hosting xxx to the hosting‑performance‑1 plan is effective.
Your site remains accessible during this hosting change."

I kept my hosting by reducing its capacity.

I will try to perform the checks you mention.

For privacy reasons I have replaced the name of my site with x's, but I can share it with you in a private message if you wish.

I am surprised that after 10 years of messages on the various OVH forums that have come and gone, today my messages need to be moderated before publication.

Hello @Driver

Which domain?

My answer above was written yesterday afternoon around 6 p.m., but moderation means it was only published this morning ...

I have always kept an older PHP version (5.4) on my hosting because I have an old forum that is no longer maintained by its developer; this is the version shown in the general information of my hosting, but when I checked the installed PHP version I was surprised to see version 4. I edited the ovhconfig file and my site reappeared. I suppose the problem came from there, unless there was another intervention by support, but what is certain is that I didn’t put that version 4.

In my checks I am also surprised by the A record of my primary domain, which points to 46.1205.204.5, which does not match the IPv4 I have in Hosting / General information (all the A records of my other domains correctly point to the IPv4).

Should I modify the A record?
At first glance I would say yes, but please confirm (I’m also surprised that my site shows up with the A record set like that).

That's not a valid IP address. Which cluster are you on?

Just one character off, we have the CDN IP address of cluster005.

I am on cluster 105

Looking more closely at my hosting configuration, I see that 46.105.204.5 corresponds to the CDN

Hello @Driver

Apparently your visitors seem to be coming from France.
In that case the CDN is of no use and rather a nuisance.

Perhaps it would be worthwhile to disable the CDN and configure the " A " field as indicated in my guide.

Indeed, the vast majority of visitors come from France.
If I change field A and disable the CDN, will that have an immediate impact on the site’s visibility?

Hello @Driver

On the contrary, it will be much better.

Hello

If I disable the CDN and modify field A, will the site remain visible during the propagation time?

In principle, yes. But if there’s ever an interruption, it won’t be very long.

Not very long ...

I'll wait for the weekend in the late evening

A week to verify the hypothesis: that’s a long time

Oops, when you say not very long, is that just a hypothesis?

It’s still important to know whether the outage risk is measured over a few hours or longer.

Hello @Driver
I've done it several times, switching from CDN to non‑CDN.
I also had to change the OVH server address to use the French one.

Thanks for the feedback and, as you’ve done several times, could you give me an estimate of the outage risk range—1 h/3 h, 2 h/6 h, or something else?
