Update MySQL Version

Hi I was just wondering if it was possible to update my MySQL version from 5.5 to 5.6 or 5.7 or is it just set at whatever my datacentre uses?

so there is no way how to access my private mysql database remotely?!

So there is a way but firstly i cannot see "manage authorized IPs" tab in my customer area!
