I upgraded my VPS earlier today to higher tier. From 4 cores and 8gb ram to 8 cores and 16gb ram.
The change has began right away, I though I will be able to choose when the transition will happen. Ok, I can live with it.
What I can't live without is the fact that this upgraded VPS service is significantly slower than it's lower tier! I literally have problems to even move files around, copying files goes as low as 100kb/s (on AVERAGE), task manager doesn't refresh itself anymore, CPU despite being "on paper" 2x more powerful can't keep up with absolutely essential tasks such as smooth browsing of the web, or running empty (!) game server that used to ran fine with 50+ players in it while the VPS was half of it's current compute capacity!
So, I paid extra for worse service. Service that I can't literally use for anything atm.
Any ideas?

I would suggest you to submit a ticket with the technical details so that it can be escalated to review the root cause. You should not see a decrease in performance from an upgrade.
