I have a domain name registered elsewhere and considering an OVH Hosting. Does anyone have information on the Best-seller "Personal Web Hosting" - https://www.ovhcloud.com/en-gb/web-hosting/ regarding renewal prices for year 2 ?
Additionally, is it really possible to have a web hosting plan with OVH and a domain name registered elsewhere ? I read online that OVH forces customers to Transfer their Domain Name in order to offer web hosting for the said domain name. I don't want to transfer/change registrar for OVH.
PS : If answers have already been provided in the past on this topic, please send me the link
Unless you benefit from a special offer (e.g. Black Friday) the prices are the same for year 1 and subsequent ones (unless OVH raises the prices for everyone, existing and new customers).
OVH will not force you to transfer your domain name. However some actions are easier when your DNS zone is also hosted by OVH.
It is also possible that you retain your domain name where it is, move your DNS zone to OVH, move your web hosting to OVH, and have your e-mail MX and mailboxes hosted by OVH or someone else.
I don't have any offer so I believe I am seeing the full price on OVH Web Hosting UK sales page. At the moment, I see the bestseller at £1.89/month excl. VAT. Once put in basket, it's a 1year payment upfront, it's fine.
I was asking about renewal prices in year two due to the low cost advertised - Will it really be £1.89/month excl. VAT in year 2 or something else ? It's to know if there would be a something else with OVH going forward.
For example my domain name.com I paid £1 for the 1st year and now I pay £15/year. I am comparing with IONOS, here I have attached a picture (Renewal expected price/Pay £X now and £2X in 6months).
I was considering this Setup : Domain name (IONOS), Web Hosting (OVH), DNS (Cloudflare), Email (OVH Web Hosting included) - Would I have no issue with OVH ?

These are real prices in mainland Europe, in Euros.
Special offers apply on the subscription of new domain names, as stated on the page.
A hosting area may host one or several websites with different URL's -- but only with the Personal offer and beyond.
All those offers include e-mail mailboxes tied to one and only one domain name.
You may use Cloudflare as DNS servers, and OVH ones are also just fine to host your DNS zone. It is even easier and recommended to use OVH if you host a web/mail hosting with OVH.
Think about SPF and DKIM that require you to add records in your DNS zone for successful outgoing e-mail delivery.
Your information are helpful - Do you know by any chance if Personal hosting price increase after the 1st year or if it stays the same ? I can't find this info on OVH website, and I tried to call a customer service member (+44333 370 0425) but the phone number is a bot message prompting to go to their website (no real help).
I was considering Cloudflare as DNS for their free plan perks : CDN and Security.
As I said previously, the prices displayed for the hosting are the real prices and are not a special price/bargain/offer for the new customers.
As you have discovered, these are cheap prices. At that price, do not expect any assistance via the phone or e-mail. The support will be there for incidents only, and will certainly not explain to your grandma how to unzip a file.
@fritz2cat 🇧🇪 🇪🇺 The cheap price makes sense now. The use of a community forum highlights this limited to zero OVH assistance, and for sure I can imagine the support not helping your grandpa how to reset a password.
